I hate it when I get too attached to movies. I seriously want to be part of it when I know it's impossible and that it's stupid just thinking about it. This was just like how I was with Rent 4 or 5 years ago. I wanted everything that had any relation to Rent. I bought books about it, I downloaded songs, I researched on cast backgrounds, etc. Yes, I get obsessed sometimes. HAHA. It's happening all over again with Avatar and I.
Originally, I was supposed to watch it with blockmates but we didn't catch the time so we just ate instead. We were supposed to watch with barkada but we ran out of tickets. So I ended up watching it alone (but in 3D) yesterday. It was AWESOME. I forgot I paid P300 for a movie. Everything about the movie was perfect. The cast, effects, graphics, moral...everything! I couldn't stop myself from thinking about it when we heard mass earlier. HAHA. I know, I'm sorry, I just cannot deal!

I'm a certified Avatar-d!

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, reading would be it. Read poetry, fiction, newspapers, bathroom graffiti, essays, magazines, and advertisements. Reading expands your mind in ways video games and Farmville won’t. See books as an investment.
Sing. Sing in the shower, in the car, in the club, and while walking. Sing alone and sing with friends.
Travel. Travel. Travel. You will encounter different people, cultures, and cuisines. You will even encounter yourself.
Read the rest here.

I've always been warned to not get attached to college friends. It's too risky!
They flunk a subject, they get held back. They realize their "calling", they shift. They get offered to become an artista, they don't come to school the next day. (joke saka na yun guyzzz) They get a chance to live in greener pastures, and be with their families... what choice do we have. They fly away.
"Stick to your high school barkada." This was the original game plan.
But we all eventually admitted that we needed someone there. Someone to be with during the long two hour breaks. Someone to be late with when two hours just ain't enough. Someone to endure the stinky cats with. Someone to BUZZ at 2 am, asking about the progress of his/her paper. Someone to sit with at the back when terror professors are passing chalks and calling people sloppy. Really.. Someone to just share this new world with. Sorry na, frosh kasi :)
Cue the entrance of college friends. When did I start to call you BBB anyway? And when did we grow to be Happy Everyday?
Probably when I realized that I have truly found friends in you. And when I stopped denying that you're the people I want to be stuck with until we're hot young doctors who will save the world (after braving the quevadas este cadavers, of course).
"Stick to the people who have no choice but to be stuck with you too." I guess that's the game plan now. :)
I really don't know who among us will stay. But this is for all of you whom I tagged - life goes on. People come and go, so don't make any promises for tomorrow. Why do you have to, if you are happy enough today?
"If you are patient, if you have faith, you will know in your heart when the right time for promises has come. And when that time arrives, then you will see that you have both lost nothing by setting each other free, and have instead gained a richer, fuller life, a wealth of experiences, and a stronger certainty of your desires. But should they not return to you, then life hasn't cheated you because no promises were broken. Your bitterness will not last long, and you will feel thankful and blessed that at the very least, this beautiful soul has colored your life."
Bading, akala ko pang ex-boyfriend lang yan. Naloka me.
MAE BABY - I dread the first day of school that we'll realize that you're REALLY not gonna be there anymore. One less Sun subscriber to call when I'm lost, and one less person to save a seat for. But you - I'm excited for you in a way :) Sinabi ko na yun, teh. I'm excited for your world to expand. Puputi ka sa States! Makakahanap ka ng nigga boyfriend. PLEASE Ikaw na lang si Macy! Or MaeC (pang-popstar gago) You'll get to a good school and have a secured life. You'll meet people just like us, maybe even better :) MOST IMPORTANTLY, you will come back. We will scream! "GAGO MAE DOCTOR NA KAMI WASAP!" Tapos mashoshock ako.. "GAGO MAE BLONDE KA NA!!" Wahahahahahaha. Kaloka.
FOR THE REST OF US WHO WILL BE LEFT HERE IN THE THIRD WORLD - Life goes on. We will make more memories, and build stronger friendships. We'll course through each day knowing that someone will always be there :) We'll probably be forced to be really close, to the point na matatakot na tayo na mabawasan pa ulit. But that's no reason to be scared, divaah. May sinabi ako dati sa turnover speech ko gago quotable quote! "Every song ends, but that's no reason to not enjoy the music."
CHOS :)
Have a safe flight, Mae :) You will always be part of BBB and Heggets. <3

When you think “pole dancing”, you think Quezon Ave. Air Force One. Pegasus. Malate. You won’t equate it to art. That is, until you actually try it.
My friend Kris (a.k.a. DJ Memphis on 105.9 but Cuppycake to me) invited me to take a class in Movement Dance Studio, Greenhills. Attire: sports bra and pekpek shorts. Oh diba dun pa lang exciting na?
The class started with a warm-up and ab exercises, then on to the pole dance techniques. The teacher, CD (Christina Dy), started by teaching me how to climb the pole, stay on the pole, do basic turns, and backbends. My palms were unusually sweaty, which made it difficult ‘cause I kept slipping down the pole, but there’s alcohol and a towel to keep them dry. The last part was freestyle. The lights were dimmed and mood music played. I was panicking inside because well, malandi ako pero gusto ko calculated at choregraphed landi!
I must say, my swimming/yoga/dance/running background SUPER came in handy because of the strength and flexibility the dance demands. It is not so much cardio; it’s a total body workout that involves engaging your abs, arms, and back.
You’re lifting your entire weight, which is a lot harder than lifting dumbells and doing say, 45 reps of bicep curls. To top it all off, you must pull this off with a “come hither” face, hindi “putang ina ang sakit na ng katawan ko.” Pole dancing is probably the most difficult dance I’ve had to learn (#2 is Tinikling). But it’s not the kind of difficult that makes you go, “Okay, I’m giving up on this, AYAW KO NA, THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE.” It’s more like, “KERI KO TOH, KAKAYANIN KO TOH.” You want to get better at it and keep pushing your body to its limits.
Pole dance is a mental workout as much as it is a physical one because 1) you are dancing on a pole that’s twice your height. Courage trumps talent. 2) you are clad in almost nothing. It’s the ultimate release of inhibitions. Kebs sa stretch marks, cellulite, bilbil, at thunder thighs. Hindi uso ang hiya sa pole dance.
After my beginners class, I stayed to watch the Polecats. The Polecats are composed of the students from the intermediate class. They are such a diverse group of women. There’s a banker, lawyer, college student, disc jockey, and mothers MILFs!

What’s so amazing (in addition to their acrobatic, jaw-dropping moves) is how they support and care for each other. The initial fear of trying a gravity-defying act is replaced by conviction because everyone is cheering each other on. They also remind each other that fitness is about staying healthy, not skinny. There’s a kind of positive synergy to these women, and it was a privilege to watch them in class. They are ALL SO HOT. I don’t mean that in a 0% body fat kind of way, but a confidence-radiating-from-within way.

See them perform here and here. (Of course I put the videos with Cupps in it 'cause I'm a stage friend and I'm soooooo proud of her.)
It helps that CD (teacher/choreographer/pole dancer/artist/goddess) is very patient and encouraging. She would keep flashing two thumbs up. I could still hear her saying, “EYELOVEETTT!!!!” even after I left the studio. She and Mirrel Macalinao make up the Girl Vs. Girl dance duo. Please watch this. I had to wipe my drool off the floor after.
The appeal of pole dance is so strong because we ALL have an inner vixen waiting to be unleashed. I was in pain for the next two days after that class, but it was a good kind of pain. Pole dance makes you hold your head a little higher and keep your back a little straighter. It’s an art that combines movement, dance, and grace. I HIGHLY recommend it, especially to the ladies who have always wanted to try it but never had the courage to do so. The new year is just around the corner, and this would be a perfect way to kick it off.

| The Philippine RH Bill: Responsive and Progressive |
[16 Dec 2009|10:19am] |
My englcom argumentative essay.
The Reproductive Health Bill and Population Development Act of 2008 (hereafter RH Bill) is an act providing for a national policy on reproductive health, responsible parenthood and population development, and for other purposes. It was primarily authored by Albay First District Representative Edcel Lagman and is now co-authored by about 130 more lawmakers. The bill covers the following aspects: "information and access to natural and modern family planning; maternal, infant and child health and nutrition; promotion of breast feeding; prevention of abortion and management of post-abortion complications; adolescent and youth health; prevention and management of reproductive tract infections, HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases; elimination of violence against women; counseling on sexuality and sexual and reproductive health; treatment of breast and reproductive tract cancers; male involvement and participation in reproductive health; prevention and treatment of infertility; and reproductive health education for the youth." (House Bill No. 5043 Sections I-III, 2008) More than a year has passed since the bill's original authorship, but it still remains a controversial issue in the legislative assembly. Consequently, it has also sparked debates among economists, sociologists, health experts, religious organizations and ordinary members of the community. This is why it is only appropriate for me, a concerned student and Filipino citizen, to offer my assessment. After reading the full text of the bill and the opposing arguments among different sectors, I am now brought to an unwavering stand. The RH Bill must be immediately legislated because as clearly stated in its policies and objectives, it promotes awareness and education, ensures public health and disease prevention and enables the government to play its role in the overall welfare of the citizens.
